Introduction

Navigate translation complexities effortlessly with the Shopify connector by Locale. Crafted to simplify project managers' tasks, this connector bridges the gap between data and translation systems. Experience automated localization with every product update directly from your Shopify instance to your most trusted localization service. Product changes and updates across multiple languages never felt so seamless.

What you’ll need to get started

  1. The admin login information for your Shopify instance.

    1. Note: If you do not possess the correct credentials to access this information, please contact your system administrator or your Shopify representative. Locale does not have access to this nor do we provide this information.

  2. User login information for both your Locale instance, and your Shopify instance

    1. A trial account of Locale can also be taken for free by going to locale.to and selecting the “Get Started” button.

Adding Target Languages to Shopify

  1. Start by accessing your Shopify instance with your username and password

  2. Navigate to the Settings button in the bottom left corner

  3. And scroll down to the Languages menu on the left side. Here is where you can review any published or unpublished languages in your instance, and add or remove them as necessary.

    1. Note: Only Published Languages can be part of a Locale project for content processing and delivery. This is to ensure that unpublished content is not inadvertently pulled for translation.

  4. To Publish or Unpublish a language, select the 3 dots to the right of the language name.
